Just got this my woman just came from China she knows no English I know no Chinese Mandarin I paid $500 for a translation phone does not work.I paid 14.95 for a software its OK about 50% of the time it does not translate right it does not pick up my voice correct and does not translate correctly Ive use this for 20 minutes and I am very impressed I will update the new review in a week. Right now Im telling everybody this is a great software package good luck I give it 4.5 stars out of five

I purchased this app for the benefit of audio as listed in the description. The language that I am learning was listed, however, upon purchase, there was no audio for this language. If you purchase it for audio support, check to make sure that audio is available in the language you are learning. Without the audio, this app is no better than the free ones. Not worth the money! I gave it one star because there wasnt anything lower. The first app that I want my money back for.

I use this app almost daily and have for a few years now. I speak enough French to get by, but when I need to write, I use the app to make sure what I am writing is correct. It is fabulous. If I come across something I just cant say at all, I type in my sentence in English and Voila, I am communicating effectively in French. Thank you!

I use this translator for learning Tagalog. I just upgraded to get the audio but you dont have it for this language. I am disappointed but I love your app. Miriam

Paid the extra money for pro version and the sound doesnt work and either to the buttons - tried re-downloading and many things to fix DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR PRO - you will be throwing your money away-very disappointing.

I purchased this APP before traveling to the Dominican Republic, and must admit it was quite helpful. The only difficulty I had was with translating from Spanish back into English.. It seems that some of the countries colloquial nuances were not translatable, which ended with the response not making any sense in English... The one thing thats good about this dilemma, is that it encourages me to get more involved with some of the local expressions; for example: "Sip" is there way of saying "OK".

If anyone wants the best this is the best one to have , I had this app" for 3 years and I really Love it 100% .

My issue had to do with listening to translation. The Founder and app creator gave me a phone call. THIS IS MY ISSUE: When it comes to listening to the pronunciation of a word, most language translation apps allow you to toggle between both languages. For example, if I want to listen to how CRUDITÉS is pronounced in French: French CRUDITÉS translated to English RAW VEGETABLES. If I want to listen to the French pronunciation of CRUDITÉS, I toggle between the 2 languages. Unfortunately MyLanguagePro does not facilitate this feature. It only allows me to listen to the translated word(s) which is RAW VEGETABLES.

My son is a teacher and at times he has asked me to translate a note from english to Spanish for a non English speaking parent. I can speak and read Spanish but have a hard time writing it. After I read the translation I might have to change some wording to best describe the situation. But the best thing I like about it, it gives me the correct spelling of the word Im looking for.

I have loved this app since I first tried the free version years ago and upgraded to Pro within a few weeks. Have repurchased it when I lost control of my iCloud account. Its grammatical and idiomatic rendering is in most languages superior to Google translate, the transliteration feature (so a Roman-alphabet-person can figure out how to pronounce languages written in other character sets, whether alphabetic or not) is invaluable for language learners. It isnt a complete substitute for a professional human translator, by any means; it still stumbles over novel expressions and neologisms, portmanteau words, and sometimes will give a literal translation for a figurative expression that is well-known to a native speaker as indicating something else, but in general, for on-the-go cross-cultural communication it can be invaluable. And hey, it even has Latin now! It has come in handy in emergency situations where people who didnt understand instructions in English could be helped even when no one fluent in their language was available, such as when a train was stopped and passengers needed to debark and take another form of transit to their destination. I can easily see this app being very, very useful to police and other public safety personnel to defuse tense situations, especially where a translator is unavailable and it is important that the public understand what action is required of them, what is occurring, etc. Especially in areas with high concentrations (or sudden influxes) of refugees or immigrants with great linguistic variety, it can be very challenging to deal with crowds and individuals who dont understand you when you need them to in a hurry. While a bilingual human translator is usually preferable, it is not always possible to find one in an exigency. This app can fill the gap. It is particularly useful in dealing with the immense number of Chinese dialects since the sense can usually be adequately communicated (at least to those who can read) simply by showing the characters on the screen. The sound option for many of the languages lets the app speak for you even if you cant pronounce the words. It is very useful for checking your own understanding against if you are learning a language. WORTH THE MONEY.

The voices are unclear. Cannot understand pronunciations. Needs a lot more work. Asked for refund. Translator Pro is much better.

its my #1 in my phone

I have asked customer service repeatedly why this app defaults to English/Spanish when closed. I have to reset my language of choice (English/French) every time I reopen this app. I want an app that is ready to use upon opening rather than having to reset it every time I use the app! Customer service havent responded to my question. They have my money though!

I love the app. Takes a moment to become accustomed to the interface. But its simple. I would love to see, however, Nahuatl be added. Because the words are integrated into everyday spanish use in Mexico. And to fully grasp the heart and culture of country Nahuatl must be offered on the app which will help tremendously. Especially when it comes to reading folklore. Or learning about the history.

I enjoy it because it help me a lot. Thank you for the app I just hope it get better and better.

I originally got the free version and loved it. Wrote a 5 star review. Then got this paid version to avoid the ads and support the developer. What a mistake. I am in Chile and need Spanish. But upon opening the app no how many times I have chosen Spanish as my choice to translate to it keeps defaulting to French. That never happened with the free version. So I emailed the developer. Got the standard acknowledgment that they received my inquiry and would review and get back to me that was 10 days ago. Nothing. 3 days ago I wrote again and said I had not heard anything and wanted a fix or my money back. Still nothing. I am going to notify my credit card that I will not pay this charge. Do not buy from this developer. Not unless you want to have to select your language every time

I use this app for French, and it seems fairly accurate - definitely better than online translators.
